PERFORMING LANDSCAPES NORDIC/BALTIC

"(Re)Connected to Nature. Nature-Driven Creative Practices in Design, Architecture, and Art. Vol 1" is compiled by the LMDA researcher, architect Dina Suhanova. The publication consists of a selection of innovative architecture, design and art practices ‘drived by nature’ – 15 projects closely related to nature and the natural, inspired by the landscape, exploring and analysing the landscape, reviewing resource chains, the use of resources and natural materials, and speculating on the natural in the context of contemporary sustainability principles. The publication highlights projects by Latvian authors, architects, artists, and designers and is complemented by two projects from Estonia and Lithuania to provide a broader context and to emphasise the international reach of the publication. Each selected work is described by the editor’s text-essays, based on documents, materials and conversations with the authors. The publication is in English to be accessible to a broader international audience.
